![]() ![]() ![]() Everything tasted great! I got one of my friends ( a real shrimp lover) to try it with me and she enjoyed it as well. For my first visit i tried the beef chow ho fun, curry pockets, coconut shrimp, and the spring rolls. To start of they have plenty of parking in their plaza so you should never have an issue finding a spot. Harmony has exceeded my expectations so much. I have recently begun broadening my horizons and finding different vegetarian and vegan food spots in Atlanta. So if you're looking for a kosher spot, this is also not for you.Ī fun place to try out new things especially if you're new to vegetarian mock meats, but just keep in mind that even if it doesn't have meat in it, if you fry it and coat it in sugar, it probably won't be too good for your body. I asked if they were kosher, but they weren't sure, which means that they're not. Granted we tried only four things among two people, I found that their food was generally overall very sweet, and too sweet for my liking. It's clean, service is friendly and prompt, and the menu is extensive. Their meat is pretty similar to Green Sprout, but honestly some of it really doesn't seem like the real thing if that matters to you (it didn't to me). I like their attitude and their goal of introducing more vegetarian foods to folks. Harmony is nice if you are in a large group with several vegetarian friends and you all want to go eat out at a Chinese spot. I realized that sometimes, you just have to suck it up and go somewhere else go get a throat cleanse of spicy or hot foods. If you like eating Americanized Chinese food (sweet, sticky, tangy) in vegan form, this is for you! BINGO! ![]() If you want to get a more "authentic" Chinese food experience, again, this is not for you. Also, because China is a giant country and we have only a few cuisines represented here, you're bound to be disappointed if you come looking for one type of cuisine. If you want to get spicy Chinese food, this is not for you. Here is the deal, fellow searchers of good food. I use Anijomoto, in small amounts, in home cooking myself, with no ill effect.) (Glutamate occurs naturally in high amounts in many other foods, like hard Italian cheeses and red meat. Vegetarian dishes tend to be less savory as-is, MSG is a *safe* way to add umami flavor when used sparingly, and it adds less sodium per weight than salt. Note: I don't know whether they use MSG, and I've never asked I don't buy in to the anecdotal pseudoscience about it causing "reactions". The latter is almost uncanny in similarity to me even today, but it tastes great. Meat eaters may be a bit surprised at the texture of the "beef" and "shrimp". Leftovers of everything else are just as good the next morning. The only warning I can give is that the "poultry" dishes use breaded gluten, which means they are much better when fresh and don't reheat well (the breading absorbs sauces). Harmony's food was one of the big things which helped me go vegetarian then, and I still love it all now. ![]() I have been coming here for 20 years for great meat substitute based dishes and they never disappoint. I always feel like they're selling themselves short and are worth so much more. The prices are on par with a typical kiosk takeout store, yet it's full service dine-in/takeout, portions are huge, and the food is fantastic. It's very rare that a customer will say that a restaurant is not charging enough for its food, but this is true of Harmony Vegetarian. ![]()
